Donuts That Spell Something

A box that says M-A-Y-A when the lid opens beats a box that says nothing. There are three ways to put letters on a birthday delivery — one ships today with every Celebration Box, two are request-based. All three explained below, no bakery jargon.

  • ✓ Name on the box, standard
  • ✓ Piped letters rolling out
  • ✓ Arrangements by request

Three Ways to Get Letters on Donuts

From zero-effort to full showpiece:

  • 1 · Name on the box — included. Order the Celebration Box and the recipient’s name (up to 12 letters) goes on the lid. Available at every checkout, today, no request needed.
  • 2 · Letters piped in icing — $12, rolling out. Their name written across the donuts themselves. Live in some cities, coming to the rest — checkout shows what’s available for your ZIP.
  • 3 · A full spell-it-out arrangement — by request. One decorated donut per letter, arranged to be read. Describe it in your order notes; we confirm feasibility and any price difference with the bakery before you pay a cent.

The Letter Math

For spell-it-out arrangements, count letters, then round up to a box size.

SpellingLettersBox that fits
“MAYA” or “DAD”3–4Birthday Box (12) — letters up front, spares behind
“HAPPY 30TH” or a long name8–10Celebration Box (18)
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY”13–14Office Box (24) — room to breathe between words

Spares matter: someone always eats the “A” before photos happen. Keep the message to one or two words and let the card do the long version.

Ordering a Letter Arrangement

1

Pick the box the word fits in

Use the table above — one letter per donut, plus a few unlettered spares.

2

Put the exact word in the order notes

Spelling included. “ADRIANA, all caps, pink icing” gives the bakery everything it needs.

3

We confirm before you pay

A human checks it with the bakery in the recipient’s city and comes back with a yes (and any price note) — or an honest no plus alternatives.

Letter Donut Questions

How many letters can go on the box lid?

Twelve — enough for ALEXANDRA with room to spare. Longer names get gloriously abbreviated, which is its own kind of birthday tradition.

Is every letter donut an extra charge?

The name on the Celebration Box is included in its $59 price. Piped letters are a flat $12 where available. Spell-it-out arrangements are quoted per request — always before payment.

Can you do emojis or symbols?

Hearts and stars, usually yes. The aubergine, no. Icing has standards.

What if the bakery in my city can’t do letters?

We tell you before you pay, and the fallback is never sad: the standard decorated box with the name on the lid still reads loud and clear from across the room.

Letters or numbers for a milestone birthday?

Both work — “LIZ IS 40” is a power move. For digits-first thinking, see number donuts.
