Birthday Donuts at Work: the Good Kind of Interruption

A donut box landing on someone’s desk at 10:15 on their birthday does more for morale than most all-hands. We deliver to offices every day — reception, suite numbers, lobby security and all. Here’s how to send one that actually reaches the right desk.

  • ✓ Reception handled
  • ✓ 24-donut shareable tray
  • ✓ Windows in office hours

Four Details That Make Office Delivery Effortless

Checkout asks for all of these — having them ready is the whole trick.

  • The full address, with suite or floor. “400 Main St” strands a courier in a lobby; “400 Main St, 12th floor, Suite 1204” gets donuts to a desk.
  • The recipient’s cell. If security won’t let us up, one text from them beats twenty minutes of negotiating with a lobby guard.
  • A quiet accomplice. Optional but elite: a coworker’s number in the delivery notes turns a drop-off into a coordinated surprise.
  • Confirmation they’re in that day. The one heartbreak we can’t fix is delivering a surprise to someone’s work-from-home day. One casual “you in Thursday?” text prevents it.

Pick the Moment

All three windows run on the recipient’s local time, Monday–Saturday.

Morning · 9–12The classic. Donuts anchor the day, the box empties by lunch, and the birthday person holds court at the coffee machine.
Midday · 12–3Catches hybrid schedules and late arrivals. Pairs dangerously well with a team lunch.
Afternoon · 3–6The 3pm slump never saw it coming. Best for offices that celebrate at day’s end.

Boxes That Work at Work

The Office Birthday Box is the purpose-built one — 24 donuts on a shareable tray — but plenty of desks receive a personal Birthday Box with their name on it.

Office Delivery Questions

What happens when the courier hits the front desk?

We announce it as a birthday delivery for the recipient, follow the building’s process — sign-in, badge, escort, whatever it takes — and call the recipient if reception wants them to collect it. You get a confirmation once it’s handed over.

Can the delivery be a surprise from the whole team?

Yes — the card supports any sender line: “From all of us on the 4th floor” fits with room to spare. Collect the money however your office does; we only need one payer.

What if their office has strict security?

It usually just means the handoff happens in the lobby with the recipient present — we call them down. If we truly can’t complete a delivery, we call you before doing anything else.

Do you deliver to coworking spaces?

All the time. Put the space’s name and the company or desk-area detail in the address — front desks at coworking spaces are famously good at this.

Is 24 donuts enough for our team?

It serves 15–24 people. Bigger floor? Add a second box — one delivery fee covers both — or check the party-math guide.
